2017年3月18日(土)、さいたまスーパーアリーナにてfripSideのワンマン・ライブ「fripSide LIVE TOUR 2016-2017 FINAL in Saitama Super Arena -Run for the 15th Anniversary-supported by animelo mix」が開催された。

2002年のfripSide結成から15年、そのプロジェクト第一弾と銘打たれた本公演では、冒頭より披露された「sister's noise」をはじめ、fripSide15年のキャリアを網羅した構成となった。また、多彩な豪華ゲストの登場や新曲「clockwork planet」の初披露など、ツアーファイナルに、そして15周年イヤーの幕開けに相応しい大盛況のステージとなった。

中盤には昨年に「僕は僕であって」「The end of escape」でコラボレーションを果たしたangelaが登場。fripSideとの奇跡のタッグがステージ上で初めて再現された。ほかにもfripSideが共に歩んできたアーティスト・KOTOKOや、第1期ボーカリストのnaoがゲストに登場し、fripSide15周年に花を添える。

Wアンコールの最後に披露された代表曲「only my railgun」までの全36曲、およそ4時間、約20,000人が集まった"さいたまスーパーアリーナ"の会場は熱狂と、彼らのイメージカラーであるウルトラオレンジの光に包まれた。

本公演を皮切りにfripSideの15周年記念プロジェクトはまだまだ続く。15周年企画第2弾となる、第2期fripSideによる第1期カバー・アルバムの発売、本日初披露されたTVアニメ『クロックワーク・プラネット』OPとなるニュー・シングル「clockwork planet」の5月のリリース、2017年秋の全国ツアーの発表や本公演のダイジェスト版のdアニメストアでの配信、そして本公演の映像パッケージ化などが控えている。15年の歴史とともに新たな領域へと足を踏み入れたfripSide。各詳細は公式サイトにて。
