Net Applicationsから2018年12月のモバイルOSのシェアが発表された。2018年12月はAndroidがシェアを増やし、iOSがシェアを減らした。iOSをバージョン別に見ると、最新バージョンであるiOS 12.1がシェアを大きく増やし、iOS 12.0とiOS 11.4がシェアを減らしている。iOSは比較的短期間で最新バージョンへの移行が進んだことがわかる。

Androidに関しては、Android 8.1、Android 8.0、Android 4.4がシェアを増やした一方、Android 7.1、Android 7.0、Android 5.1がシェアを減らした。Androidは全体で7割近いシェアを確保しているものの、バージョンごとにシェアが分断する傾向が続いている。
