Net Applicationsから2019年7月のモバイルOSのシェアが発表された。2019年7月はAndroidがシェアを落とし、iOSがシェアを増やした。Androidは長期にわたって増加傾向、iOSは長期にわたって下落傾向を続けていたが、この2年間は細かな増減を繰り返しほぼ横ばいの状況が続いている。

AndroidとiOSのシェア割合は現在とほぼ同じ状況がこの1、2年間続いており、そのシェアの中でバージョンごとのシェア変動が生まれるといった状況になっている。

AndroidはAndroid 1系からAndroid 9系まで、さまざまなバージョンが混在している。以前はバージョンアップのスピードが速かったiOSだが、現在では直近のマイナーバージョンとメジャーバージョン含め、複数のバージョンが混在する状況が生まれている。なお、Androidのほうがバージョンの散らばりが広く、iOSのほうが新たなバージョンに集中する傾向が見られる。
