Microsoftは5月13日(米国時間)、「Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19628 | Windows Experience Blog」において、「Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19628」をファストリングにリリースしたと伝えた。このバージョンにはDNS over HTTPSの初期サポートが追加されており、WindowsがDNSクエリを実行する時に暗号化を利用できるようになる。

DNS over HTTPSを有効にする方法は次のとおり。

  1. レジストリエディタを起動
  2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Dnscache\Parametersへ移動
  3. EnableAutoDohという名前でDWORD値を作成
  4. EnableAutoDohの値を2に設定
  5. DNSサーバをDNS over HTTPSに対応したサーバに設定
  6. システムを再起動

DNS over HTTPSに対応しているとされるDNSサーバのIPアドレスは次のとおり。
