Microsoftは10月2日(現地時間)、「Windows Server 2019 – now generally available! - Windows Server Blog」において、「Windows Server 2019」の一般公開を伝えた。これまで、2018年10月にWindows Server 2019を公開するというアナウンスしていたが、公約どおりに公開されたことになる。すでにダウンロード可能。

すでに適切なソフトウェアアシュアランスを取得したWindows Serverユーザーは「Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC)」経由でWindows Server 2019をダウンロードすることができる。評価版は「Microsoft Evaluation Center」からダウンロードして試用することができる。AzureでWindows Serverを使っている場合には「Azure Marketplace」から取得可能。

2018年10月後半には「Visual Studio Subscription」（旧MSDN）および「Microsoft Partner Network (MPN)」にWindows Server 2019が追加されると説明がある。
